Your content declaration, verified against the product itself
Verify the content declaration, adulteration risk and batch identity of your cosmetic products within a single structure. Rapid screening in the field, accredited laboratory analysis where a decision is required.
Three core verification questions in cosmetics
All three are answered by examining the product itself.
Confirming the content declaration
Documenting that the content declaration on the packaging matches the product is the shared basis of both the marketing claim and regulatory compliance.
Adulteration and substitution
A substitution that preserves colour, scent and texture cannot be distinguished by eye. Detection is performed on the product's own component profile.
Batch identity
The batch number on the packaging is a record. The identity of a batch resides in the product's own profile and can be compared against a reference.
Declared and measured content, compared on one screen
Cosmex compares the ingredient list on the label against the profile measured in the product. Matching and diverging components are reported without the need to review the detail.
- Confirm that the active ingredient you lead with is present at the expected level
- Be informed before shipment when an undeclared substance is detected
- Define an approved batch as your reference and compare subsequent batches against it

Defining scope
The products to be followed and the declarations to be verified are determined jointly.
Field screening
The product is examined at your own facility using a handheld reader and the mobile application.
Laboratory confirmation
Where a decision is required, the sample is directed to an accredited laboratory and the process is managed by us.
Reporting and records
The result is recorded in the panel, the report can be downloaded and it is retained on the batch record.
Why Cosmex
A solution structured for the cosmetics industry, operating on an established analysis infrastructure.
Structured for cosmetics
This is not a general analysis service. Verification areas and reports are defined in the terminology of the cosmetics industry.
Built on the Molevex infrastructure
Analysis capability is not established on a per-project basis. The existing infrastructure is available from the first day.
Field and laboratory integrated
Rapid screening is performed in the field and decisive analysis is completed in an accredited laboratory. Both results are consolidated on the same record.
Frequently asked questions
How is a sample submitted?+−
The request is created through the mobile application; packaging instructions and the delivery address are provided to you. The stage the sample has reached is monitored through the application.
In which laboratory is the analysis performed?+−
Analyses that carry a decision are performed in accredited partner laboratories. Sample flow and reporting are managed by us, so correspondence with the laboratory does not rest with you.
Does field screening replace laboratory analysis?+−
Field screening provides a rapid preliminary assessment. Where documentation or a formal decision is required, accredited laboratory analysis is taken as the basis. The two methods are complementary.
What does the result report contain?+−
The report opens with an assessment of the overlap between declared and measured content. Analyses are listed by batch in the panel and a downloadable report is provided for each analysis.
What is the relationship between Cosmex and Molevex?+−
Molevex is the molecular analysis infrastructure of the Spectrace product family and is used across several industries. Cosmex is the vertical solution that adapts this infrastructure to the verification requirements of the cosmetics industry.
How does the process begin?+−
Determining the products and declarations to be followed is sufficient. The scope is defined jointly on the basis of your product range and batch frequency.
